Yep, it's true. We're having a FLASH SALE on Thursday night shows! GOOD PEOPLE is nearly SOLD-OUT for all Friday, Saturday and Sunday performances, but since Thursday nights are new to our season schedule this year, we still have great seats available for our two Thursday night performances on September 11 and 18. GOOD PEOPLE's Director, more AUDITIONS, and a SHOUT OUT for STAGE MANAGERS!

David Carey Foster

For the past four weeks, rehearsals for our season opening production of GOOD PEOPLE have been rolling along, six nights per week, under the skilled hand of David Carey Foster. If you are a long time fans of PCPA or The Great American Melodrama, you may have seen David performing on those stages a few years back. Now, you're more likely to catch him on an episode of The Mentalist or Dexter, or onstage at the La Jolla Playhouse, the Colony Theatre in Los Angeles or at dozens of other regional theatres in the country. This is David's first experience directing a community theatre production, but we hope it won't be the last. Putting together this ambitious production of GOOD PEOPLE under David's expert direction has been an incredible experience for our talented, amateur cast and we can't wait to share it with you. Directors David Norum (FROST/NIXON) and Don Stewart (A CHRISTMAS STORY) are looking for some talented actors to take on our next two shows. Get all the details about auditions for both of these shows on our website HERE and we hope to see you at auditions over the next two weeks.

FROST/NIXON is an Ubu's Other Shoe Staged Reading that won't require a huge rehearsal time commitment, making it a great way to get your feet wet as an actor here at the Little Theatre. Roles are available for 9 men and 2 women and the show runs for two days only, October 21-22. Powerful script, great director. Gonna be a great show!

A CHRISTMAS STORY will be a great way to spend the holidays onstage! Roles are available for 5 children and 4 adults, so you can bring the whole family down for auditions! The show will run December 5-21. If you're not familiar with the story that has become a holiday viewing tradition for thousands of families, check out a clip of the popular film version above and "don't shoot your eye out!"

It seems like we just started our magical journey to the kingdom where dreams come true and it's already almost over. There are just 8 more performances of our summer Academy of Creative Theatre musical CINDERELLA. This is a show for kids of all ages. And yes, I'm talking to you! Do you like baseball? Do you like being on stage? Are you a guy? Then, come on down to auditions for Take Me Out next Monday and Tuesday at 6 pm. Director Daniel Freeman is looking for about 10-12 men for this award-winning Ubu's Other Shoe Staged Reading. Not only that, he could really use a couple of guys who can speak Spanish, and even one who can speak Japanese. Guess what?!! It's time for another musical! Auditions for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, directed by Dana Shaheen will take place on August 24 and 25 right here at the Little Theatre. Rehearsals are in full swing for this amazing comedy-drama written by award-winning author David Lindsey-Abaire. If you're a fan of Ubu's Other Shoe Staged Readings, you may remember seeing this show on our stage as a staged reading in 2012. It was so successful and such a moving show as a reading, that the artistic team included it in our mainstage season this year. The show is directed by David Carey Foster, an experienced actor and director who you may have seen onstage a few years ago at PCPA or The Great American Melodrama. Now, you're more likely to catch him on The Mentalist or Dexter. We're thrilled to welcome him as director of our season opening show for our 68th Season here at the Little Theatre.

And now, just because I love it so much, I'll leave you with a clip from the Broadway musical version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA.  One of my favorite moments in our production features Fairy Godmother Bella Yaguda and Cinderella Cali Singleton singing IMPOSSIBLE, complete with pumpkin carriage, dancing horses, an adorable footman carrying glass slippers and best of all, a magical dress transformation.  Click HERE to see it happen on Broadway and I hope you'll join us this weekend for our delightful young actors' version of this delightful tale of dreams-come-true.
