Grant will fund the purchase/installation of audio equipment

San Luis Obispo, CA- San Luis Obispo Little Theatre is the proud recipient of a $50,000 grant from the Hind Foundation. The grant funds will be used for the purchase and installation of a state-of-the-art audio system in the main theatre, located at 888 Morro Street in San Luis Obispo.

The new audio system will include new body/handheld microphones, coverage microphones, mixing boards, amplifiers, subwoofers, intercoms, speakers, and portable sound equipment specifically designed for musicians. These capital improvements in the theatre will result in a more enjoyable theatrical experience for patrons, a more professional technical experience for directors and artistic teams, and, most importantly, more significant and practical training experiences for the Little Theatre’s technical volunteers.

The Hind Foundation was established on July 12, 2006 by Greg and Jane Hind to provide funding for important projects primarily in San Luis Obispo County and elsewhere in the State of California. Its purpose is the preservation of our cultural heritage with emphasis in music and visual arts, plant and wildlife conservation and historical restoration projects. The Hind Foundation seeks community based projects that inspire members to work together and build an enduring legacy for future generations.

San Luis Obispo Little Theatre presented its first play, Blithe Spirit, in 1947, and is one of the oldest continuously-running community theatres in the nation. For the last 15 years, through the generosity of the City of SLO, San Luis Obispo Little Theatre has called the old library building on the corner of Palm and Morro its home.

Thank you to the Hind Foundation for this wonderful gift to the theatre! Check the blog for photo updates on the project!
