Oh how do we love Keith and Debbie at Costume Capers...let me count the ways...

Good morning friends of the Little Theatre,

Our Artistic Teams love Keith, Debbie, and Costume Capers. (And oxford commas.) They have been Emerald Corporate Sponsors of the Little Theatre for well over a decade. Each season, Keith and Debbie donate approximately $7,000-$10,000 in costume rentals (not to mention hours and hours of time) to our productions.

This halloween, it's easy to do the right thing: shop at Costume Capers. How many reasons do you need?

-They're local (and have been for over 25 years.)

-They are an incredible supporters of non-profits in the area, including the San Luis Obispo Little Theatre.

-If you don't shop there, Keith will make more faces like this one:

Put your halloween money where it count. Show Keith and Debbie that you appreciate their support of the local arts.

Have a  great Wednesday,

Kevin

WONDERETTES moves in, GOOD PEOPLE rocks the house, and AUDITIONS GALORE! This week at the Little Theatre!

Good morning friends of the Little Theatre,

Good People, an Ubu’s Other Shoe staged reading, took the stage on Friday and Saturday night. Congratulations to the cast/crew and director John Battalino- what a great play! Audiences were strong and the response to the play was great. Thank you to Anet and Charley Carlin (www.thewebgame.com) for making the production possible and Season Sponsors for Ubu’s Other Shoe.

The Marvelous Wonderettes is beginning its final week of rehearsals before tech. The show is looking great- get your tickets now for this incredibly fun trip back to the 50’s and 60’s. Get your tickets by clicking HERE.

We have several auditions coming up for upcoming shows.  After the success of and feedback from our reading of THE BEST MAN, the Little Theatre is having a pre-audition read-through of our holiday production, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, directed by Lisa Woske. Interested in meeting the director and learning more about the play before auditions? This is the best way to do it. Come on by the theatre- we'll have scripts- and we'll divide up the parts and read the script. Easy. Fun.

The read-through will take place on Thursday, August 23 at 6:00 PM. It's a Wonderful Life opens on Friday November 30 and plays through Sunday, December 23. Click HERE to RSVP.

Auditions for The Best Man will take place on Monday and Tuesday, August 27 and 28 at the Little Theatre. Actors will be asked to read from provided sides. San Luis Obispo Little Theatre is proud to have the exclusive rights to The Best Man directly after the popular Broadway revival closes. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this remarkable show. Gore Vidal’s play- set in 1960- provides an incredible challenge to all actors. Please do not look at the movie. Scripts are available for check-out at the Little Theatre. The Best Man puts you in the front row of one of the most heated, vicious presidential campaigns ever imagined. William Russell, is a wit and scholar with high liberal principles. Joseph Cantwell is a ruthless and hard-driving young man, a dirty fighter who will let no scruples stand in the way of his ambitions. On the eve of the convention, Cantwell has got hold of papers indicating that his rival has a secret which he cannot wait to use in order to destroy his opponent. This Tony award-winning play set the bar for all political thrillers. Don’t miss it. Click HERE for all audition information.

Happy, happy opening to GOOD PEOPLE. Don't miss this incredible play. Two nights only.

Happy opening night to Good People, an Ubu's Other Shoe staged reading directed by John Battalino.

Margie Walsh can’t catch a break. Laid off from her job at the dollar store, Margie is faced with the reality that South Boston is providing her the same level of opportunity it always has: none. Wry, rough around the edges and ready to make a change, she goes to seek out the one who got away – both from “Southie” and from her. Instead, she finds herself in the burbs and out of her element, facing the question – is opportunity granted or earned? Nominated for a 2011 Tony Award for Best Play, Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People takes an affectionate look at the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’ through the eyes of characters who won't be ignored.

Don't miss this play. Get your tickets by licking HERE, or buy them at the door. Show begins promptly at 7:00.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

We have new seats, GOOD PEOPLE takes the stage, and the WONDERETTES are are right around the corner. THIS WEEK at the Little Theatre!

Good afternoon, Board, staff, and artistic teams of the Little Theatre,

Sorry for the delay in getting this message out- on Monday Jim Chernoff called us to let us know that we had to pick up our new theatre seats from the PAC on Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM. We hadn’t planned on making the switch for a week or two. Dave immediately began removing our old seats on Tuesday morning (with the help of Ron Burkhart and Franklin Mognett). On Wednesday morning, Dave, Bryce Engstrom, Richard Luckett and I arrived at the PAC and transferred 118 seats to the Little Theatre on a flatbed trailer. They were installed before rehearsal for The Marvelous Wonderettes began at 5:00 PM that evening. Thank you, everyone, for your help over the last 36 hours. Our new seats look great!

Good People, an Ubu’s Other Shoe staged reading will take place this Friday and Saturday, August 17 and 18 at 7:00 PM. Don’t miss this wonderful play directed by John Battalino. Get your tickets by clicking HERE.

We’re having a preliminary readthrough of It’s a Wonderful Life this Thursday, August 23rd. If you’d like to meet the director or get to know the pay before auditions, come on by and read (or just listen.) Very casual. Click HERE to RSVP.

The Marvelous Wonderettes has moved into the theatre and the girls sound great! Don’t miss this incredibly fun production, directed and choreographed by Jake MaGuire. Click HERE for tickets.

The Little Theatre is collaborating with The New Times and bringing the newspapers’s famous 55-word stories to life on Wednesday, September 19. Keep checking our website and the New Times for more information.
