New UBU Season starts Friday with TAKE ME OUT, then PICASSO and EINSTEIN walk into a bar, NO SHAME hits on Friday, and have you heard about AFTER HOURS?

That's right, the 11th Season of Ubu's Other Shoe starts NOW!  Or Friday, actually. Director Daniel Freeman has put together an awesome cast for a staged reading of the 2003 Tony Award Winning Take Me Out by Richard Greenberg.  If you haven't already subscribed to our Ubu Season, do it NOW! You'll be guaranteed nine evenings of dynamic, thought-provoking, award-winning plays for just $60. Click HERE to purchase all NINE (that's right, 9!) "Broadway 21st Century Comes to SLO" Ubu's Other Shoe Staged Readings OR you can click HERE to purchase individual seats for Take Me Out this weekend for just $10 each. The choice is yours... but trust me, buy the whole season. It's totally worth it.

Opening October 10th is the second in our series of FIVE regular season shows PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE by actor, comedian and author Steve Martin. Yes, THAT Steve Martin. The story goes like this:  Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso (and a host of other characters) meet in a Parisian bar (the Lapin Agile) in 1904, just before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with cubism. The result? Hilarious! Director Suzy Newman has put together a fabulous cast for this wonderful, absurdist comedy and you're going to love it. Click HERE to see the cast list and get more info about the show.

And once again, if you want to come see PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE, you have a choice. You can click HERE to become a season subscriber for all FOUR (4) remaining season shows for just $90 ($77 senior/student) OR you can click HERE to buy your tickets for PICASSO only. I'm not going to tell you which you should do... well, yes I am. The subscription price is a MUCH better deal, plus then you're guaranteed seats to THE 25TH ANNUAL SPELLING BEE, TIME STANDS STILL and THE MUSIC MAN!  Do it. You won't be sorry.

And leave us not forget NO SHAME SEPTEMBER!  Come on out this Friday for some unique, original, funny, touching, FREE, sometimes awful, sometimes amazing, live, local theatre this Friday night. Doors open at 9:30 pm (immediately following TAKE ME OUT) script submissions begin at 10 pm and the show starts at 10:30 pm. The show is free, the bar is open for business, and the laughs are on us, so come on down and enjoy NO SHAME!

Just one more thing before I go!  Mark your calendars for the premiere of our new late night comedy series AFTER HOURS @slotheatre.  Opening on October 17th will be Maddy Sinclair, performing in her outrageous one-woman show WHY AM I TELLING YOU THIS?  And of course, once again you've still got that choice I've been telling you about.  You can click HERE to buy all FIVE (5) After Hours shows in our inaugural season for just $70 OR you can click HERE to buy tickets for this show only at $20 each. The choice is yours, but you do know it's always better to buy in bulk, right?

And when I say late-night, I mean 9:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 7 pm on Sundays. Come on...you can stay awake that long, right?

And next time you're dusting off that check-book or pulling out that credit card to buy tickets to a show, think about making a donation to the Little Theatre as well.  Did you know that your ticket purchase covers only about 65% of what you see on stage? Just imagine a show with only a third of a set, or half the costumes, or having lights and sound running just two-thirds of the time! Your generous donations are what will keep your community theatre performing at 100% capacity on 45 out of 52 weekends this year. Just sayin'. It's tax deductible and we really appreciate it. You can click HERE to find out about the many benefits of membership and you can click HERE to make your donation today. Thanks for your support.

Hope to see you at Take Me Out this weekend!

~Patty
