As most of you who have been online today know, Maurice Sendak, author of Where the Wild Things Are and The Soul Kitchen died today at the age of 83. Nearly everyone is familiar with his children's books and illustrations, however, you may not know that Sendak collaborated with Tony Kushner (Angels in America, Caroline or Change) on a children's book adaptation of the opera Brundibar. Later, their version of the story was adapted into a full opera (Sendak contributed the scenic design.)
